Taurus Group acquires Nifco Products Spain to create TAG Automotive

The Taurus group, a Catalan company specialized in small household appliances, announced the acquisition of the Spanish subsidiary of Nifco Products, a Japanese manufacturer of automotive components. The deal, valued at approximately €11 million, signifies Taurus’ entry into the automotive sector. Following this acquisition, Nifco Products Spain will operate under the new name, TAG Automotive.

According to the Catalan company, Tag Automotive will maintain its current structure, retaining both the management team and employees, and will continue to operate with the same philosophy. In addition, Taurus plans to invest five million euros in this company, which is dedicated to the industrialization and injection of plastic components for automobiles, with the aim of achieving a turnover of 30 million euros in the next three years.

Taurus has committed to retaining the existing structure, including the management team and employees, while maintaining the company’s operational philosophy. In addition, the company plans to invest €5 million into TAG Automotive, with the aim of reaching €30 million in revenue over the next three years.

This acquisition is part of Taurus Group’s larger reindustrialization and innovation initiative focused on Industry 4.0. The company views this step as a critical move in diversifying into businesses that offer key knowledge and expertise, thus reinforcing its standing in the European market.

With 167 employees and based in Terrassa, TAG Automotive supplies components to prominent manufacturers like Seat, Audi, Volkswagen, and Grupo Antolín. A primary challenge for TAG Automotive will be expanding into the electric vehicle market, particularly through its involvement in projects like Volkswagen Group’s new Modular Electric Drive (MEB) platform for the ID range. This initiative is set to make Spain a key global hub for electric mobility.
